Jungle Hiking, Waterfalls & Adorable Kids

Entering the Jungle

Caleb as a leaf cutter ant

Look carefully at this picture. this was the 1st attempt to set up a shot and have caleb run over wet rock to be in the pic....needless to say the 1st attempt wasn't successful. The reason we are all laughing is b/c this is the 2nd time he fell in like 10 sec...oops!!

Success!!

The beautiful waterfall...and the crystal clear swimming pool below

Sweet lil Alexandra striking a pose ... (does this lil dress look familiar??)

A little family hehe. Baby Alexandra and her mama Cecilia.
An awesome study of Teri's. She's soo sweet.

This is Rocky, the pet deer!! Check out his necklace!

Rocky loves people...Teri kept calling him Bambi and the lady was like "no this is Rocky!!" hah, she didn't know the story of Bambi......

I love this pic. This is how so many babies ride on a bike. I've seen much smaller than this little boy. I'm so amazed how they know how to balance. Many times they are balancing on the center BAR, not the handlebars!!

Such a sweet little girl - Kayla. She's like the congregation mascot

Me and sweet Sister Illiana.
Her and her husband are Special Pioneers in the Dangriga cong.

Tarps, Geckos and a couple of Whiteys

Here is our past few days. Today Teri and I rode around on our Bikes in town to 4 Bible studies. A few times we heard "hey whiteys!" And then Teri heard "Hey Britney!" We were cracking up.

Caleb working up the Bible Highlights tonight. Last minute for a brother who got sick.

Our house Gecko

The "J&B" store across the yard from us. A wild horse grazing. A few boys were throwing rocks at him and Rene had to yell out "Ey boi! Leave tha horse alone!"

Teri whipping up some curried beef for dinner tonight. Yum Yum.

Caleb's Public Talk on Sunday

Waiting for the bus. He's not mad although he looks it lol

The hike up to Maria's house. Mandy (a sister from MI) studies with her...Mandy told her she could only study with her Wednesday mornings now. The woman has 5 young children, no running water. She said to Mandy "Well, I need to study so I will make it work". Then we were attacked by fire ants at this bridge haha. I have so many bug bits whats an army of ants gonna hurt! HaHa.

In the bed of the truck, under the tarp, pouring!!

The Gecko that was in Caleb's pants!! He thinks he brought it from home all the way to the meeting for field service. He kept telling me "My nerve in my leg is freaking out.." Low and behold, it was a gecko running up and down!!

Field Service

Today (Sunday) is like our Saturdays back home. Field service groups meet in the home...today was the Special Day for starting Bible Studies. It cooled down last night so it was a really nice day to ride bikes in service. The only thing lacking on Teri's bike is a bell and streamers. Basket-check. Pink-Check. Wide handle bars-check. It's pretty much amazing lol.

Caleb is giving the public talk today and we invited his Bible Study, so hopefully he will come. A year and a half ago there was 1 elder in the Dangriga hall, and they had 1 organized day for service. If you were to see the congregation now, you wouldn't belive it...4 elders, 5 Special Pioneers, a ton of Reg. Pioneers, Bible studies from the field are coming to the meetings and into the truth left and right! It's pretty amazing to see Jehovah directing people and some "organization" to this little town.

Here are some pics from this morning. And the horse ones are from last night. Oh and one is of Jonah and Caleb conducting some of Rene's studies last week.

In service we just go up to the house and yell "Goodmornin'!" No knocking, no numbers on the houses, just yell until someone comes to the door or window........its fun.

Much Love

: )

You'd better Belize it...

We arrived safely in Dangriga Belize this afternoon to a party of greeters. Bre, Jonah, Teri and Rene were there to greet us at the tiny airport. I happened to be the co-pilot of the plane...a 10 seater - shotgun! It was pretty hilarious. We were whisked off to the meeting, so tired but made coffee when we got home and now we are awake again and ready to go. Beautiful Kingdom Hall, open aired, and even a little gecko visitor (that poor sister...crawled on her skirt - if it happens to me, I'm sure to let out a scream!) One of Rene's studies sat with us during the meeting, obviously at ease with anyone, and shared a songbook since we forgot ours. He's 10.

We were so warmly welcomed by Teri and Rene, it is like our home away from home already. We are even making pizza tonight...yumm. And it is so fun to be with Bre and Jonah all together it's one big family.

Tomorrow will be a service day and then Tuesday we will go on a Catamaran with some other couples in the area for snorkling and fishing.

We have good internet access so we can keep in contact!

Love, Caleb + Laura

P.S. Mom: You were right about the luggage. 1 free bag each, international : )

Succumbed

So we are breaking down and entering the world know as the blogosphere. I have to say I've been fighting it for years and years...but this just seems to be a good fit for when we are gone and an easy way to keep in touch with everyone. We will try to update it regularly, but don't hold us to it! Haa.

We don't have any email accounts through this blog address so you can just email us at our normal addresses.

Hope to hear from  you all soon!!

Love, Caleb + Laura
